
Safety Manager
About the Role
Are you passionate about creating safer work environments and driving a proactive safety culture? We’re looking for an experienced Safety Manager to lead and enhance safety programs across all divisions of Kimble Company and Kimble Recycling and Disposal, Inc.
This is a strategic, hands-on leadership role where you’ll influence operations at every level, manage a skilled safety team, and ensure compliance with DOT, MSHA, OSHA, ATF, and EPA regulations. You'll also be a key player in shaping safety culture across transportation, recycling, mining, and heavy equipment operations.
What You’ll Do
Lead Safety Initiatives
- Manage aspects of the safety department, including training, development, and performance of safety staff.
- Partner with leaders and frontline employees to embed safety into every part of the business.
- Drive employee engagement and ownership in safety programs.
Ensure Regulatory Compliance
- Keep the company in full compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations (DOT, MSHA, OSHA, ATF, EPA).
- Develop and update safety policies and procedures to reflect current standards and best practices.
- Represent the company during inspections and serve as the point of contact for regulatory agencies.
Drive Accountability Through Audits & Reporting
- Oversee internal audits and safety inspections; develop and implement corrective action plans.
- Lead investigations into incidents, identify root causes, and put in place effective prevention strategies.
- Maintain organized, accurate safety records and ensure timely submission of all required reports.
Engage, Educate & Train the Team
- Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Collaborate with our Training department to build safety into onboarding and professional development.
- Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency response drills across locations.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or related field.
- 7+ years in safety management, ideally in waste management, transportation, mining, or heavy equipment industries.
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep understanding of MSHA, OSHA, DOT, and EPA standards.
- Strong experience leading audits, investigations, and regulatory reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Ability to connect with people at all levels — from executives to equipment operators.
