
Maintenance Technician - Recycling Plant

This position is responsible for assisting in all of the daily maintenance activities in the recycling center while ensuring safe operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working with conveyors, electrical components, bailers, eddy currents, optical sorters, motors, glass breakers, wire tie system, fans, and pumps
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen, & background check.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Conveyor Maintenance
- Electrical Systems
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair component failure.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including but not limited to standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in awkward positions and tight areas).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform under limited supervision
- Requires a flexible work schedule, which may include nights, and weekends to support operating schedule and needs of the facility.
- Recommends measures to improve production, equipment performance and product quality.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment. Including but not limited to, balers, conveyor belts, gear boxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings.
- This position must respond to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action by completing or assigning the repairs needed to ensure the systems are operational and functioning both safely and accurately.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform repair and maintenance on Recycle Plant Equipment in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and company policies.
- Perform inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
- Completes day to day tasks under limited supervision
